A Glimmer Under the Waves
One bright morning, Teacher Carmen took the class to look carefully at the shore. They wore gloves, stayed with their grown-ups, and used safe little grabbers. Then Luna saw a turquoise glimmer beneath the water. It was not a fish, a shell, or a stone. Two enormous eyes blinked behind a curtain of sea grass. The children waited quietly. Up popped a small, round monster with rope-soft hair, coral fins, sea-glass scales, and bottle-cap buttons. He looked wonderful—and worried. ‘Hello,’ whispered Luna. The monster lifted one tiny hand. ‘Scrappy,’ he said. That was his name, and it was the beginning of everything.

The little monster the children found beneath the waves.
Scrappy is a beautiful underwater monster made from safe, cleaned found things and ocean treasures. The children discovered him under the water, where bottle caps became buttons, soft rope became hair, and forgotten scraps became something wonderful. He reminds us to care for the sea, stay curious, and keep trying.
Scrappy es un precioso monstruo submarino hecho con materiales encontrados, limpios y seguros, y tesoros del mar. Los niños lo descubrieron bajo el agua. Nos recuerda que debemos cuidar el mar, sentir curiosidad y seguir intentándolo.
